Kurraniian City-States/Hanaloran Stations

These are the floating cities, the places of marked freedom and more sovereign rules that are far less reliant on the empires themselves, and are considered “free cities” and “Holds of Travel,” to the empires of the Atmos, even though they do not have their own unified governments. These places are often full of powerful adventuring guilds, not required to choose a side during wartime, but immediately called to action in the event of an out of plane invasion or a threat to the Atmos as a whole.

These cities all have their own governments, lords, noble families, peasants, cults, and militias that are made to defend themselves against outside threats and manage their own populations. These cities are able to hold around 10-12 million people at a time, and would be considered megacities to the people of the surface. Each of these cities has it’s own name and title among the Hanaloran Stations.

Madro’Saan - The Amber City, The Beacon

This city is the largest and eldest of the Hanaloran Stations, and was the first to be built in the original immigration era of the nonflying mortal species, and as such is regarded as a massively significant cultural landmark in the Atmos. This city is known for its fiery windows and extensive use of fire and radiant energy to maintain its flight and energy. This city is the greatest hub of technology in the Atmos and is the birthplace of the first publicly available Aerons. This city is located near the elemental empire of fire, and is built from red stained glass with steampunk aesthetics, also using a great deal of nuclear power in the modern ages.

Jadurro’Raan - The Lightstone, The Ivory City

This city is made from light white stones and filled to the brim with parks and ivory buildings made from artificially produced ivory and dragon talons collected over time. This city very much functions like its own governing body, and is home to the largest and most effective courts in the Atmos, so much so that even the dragons might move their legal proceedings to Jadurro in order to guarantee the fairest treatment.

Sabarra - The Shallow City, The Shimmering Expanse

This is the smallest city among the Hanaloran Stations in terms of population, but it is the widest and hardest to traverse by sheer amount of space available within the great city walls. The city is defended on all sides by glowing blue mithril walls and highly magical runes of protection. This city in particular makes use of more hydro energy than any other empire in the Atmos, and is full of man-made rivers, streams, and canals, making it one of the most beautiful cities in the entire Atmos. This place is also full of arcane training academies and a very large number of engineering schools and trade schools, often regarded among the Hanaloran Station citizenry across the Atmos as a “College Town.”

Vadurri - The Ember Fortress, The Redwall City

This is the tallest city in the Hanaloran Stations, and is built from a strange firebrass like metal that is now hard to find, making it altogether one of the most valuable cities in the Atmos. Firebrass, Bronze, Gold, and Copper are used far more for buildings and roads here than any other location in the world, and their golden statues on every corner make the city quite a magnificent site. This city is second in entertainment in the Atmos, but rules the markets and trade spheres with their magnificent smithing and weapon manufacturing procedures and top of the line products. This would be considered the greatest military force in the Hanaloran Stations.

Limrassi - The Dawning, The House of the Sun

This city is built around many of the Maagraat spheres, particularly Thuurnor, the sphere and portal of fire into Abraeas’Dor. This city never sees a dark night, each alley, building, and temple full of warmth, the smells of baking bread, and the ever present smell of chili peppers and butter. This city is the food capital of the Hanaloran Stations, and is known also as a land of respite during wartime, a neutral ground for peace and holiday celebrations. This is the land of plenty and the land of comfort, but falls short often in times of attacks against the Atmos as a whole realm, making it far more reliant on Vadurri, its closest neighbor in case of danger or threat.

Kimmasi - The Icon, The Shard City

This towering city floats in a shard and crystal like shape and possesses a strange ability that makes it more mobile than other cities in the stations, making it able to teleport around as a whole station rather than only enabling teleportation within its area. This city is called The Guardian Station and is the first and quickest line of defense when protecting the Atmos. Close allies with Vadurri, this city is perhaps the most active, with many soldiers, artists, mercenaries, and adventurers choosing to live in Kimmasi when they become famous, as this is also the wealthiest of the Hanaloran Stations. Buildings built downwards, upwards, outwards, and at all angles makes the city appear like a shining star upon approach, and some even say that the city has some sort of sentience, but this is unconfirmed.

Baanthaa - The Mirror City, The Reflection

Shaped like a circular plate, this floating city is one of the widest in the atmos, and has many layers that make up its body. It is surrounded by great white walls of fog, weaponized air pressure, and white mithril plates, and the city is known for its use of magical music and wind energy to keep the island city floating and functioning. This is the city nearest to the elemental empire of air and Draco’Khall. This city is a hub for travel and musical performances, and makes thousands of the world's chimes and glass sculptures.

Naadaani - The Crater, The Emergent City

This is the city that dives, the city in the meteor. A strange meteor appeared in the realm of Abraeas’Dor upon the dragons first arrival, which was later abandoned and eventually became the building foundation for a magnificent teleporting city similar to Kimmasi, but with far more rough edges and a less modern aesthetic. This realm is full of the toughest mercenary guilds, is regarded as the diplomacy capital of the Hanaloran Stations, and is the station that does the most business with Alith and the Surface Empires when needed. This city is also far more mobile due to massive, powerful solar engines that help the whole city travel great distances without teleportation.
