The Drown Depths - The Lands of Sarva

These are the strange empires and kingdoms found in the Drown, unclaimed by any surface empire due to it’s dangerous weather, mountain protections, and its location over a massive arcane Aetran hotspot. The region is hard to navigate without someone from the region itself, and many failed expeditions in the golden era’s of the world were met with tragedy. This region was not opened by the Ascension and the Sundering, and instead as opened long before by the actions of the Ancient Aevorrians, and once was an aevorrian territory. The residents of the Drown hold a belief that the Aevorrians are the reason the realm is so strange and why the waters that fill and move around its caverns flow against the normal laws of physics. This realm is one of the more fantastical and arcane depths regions in the world.

Empire of Varuuth

The United Nations of Fallen Angels and Celestial Bodies, known as the saviors of the depths during the ascension. Corrupt nowadays. Three Nations, Elevated Above all others, the first rulers of the Drown and the great power in the region, fueled by the celestials own blood and spellcasting, both amplified by the Aetran/Eterna Wells that appear all across their vast territory. The four largest houses of celestials rule the land and lead the empire to war against any who stand against them, only losing one vassel state, the sovereignties of Void in the last 5,000 years. The celestials make great use of preserved ancient aevorrian tech, having mastered the science behind them, and are the most technologically advanced empire in the world behind modern Aevorr.

Sovereignties of Void

The united state of elvenkind that has won sovereignty against the fallen celestials a long time ago, and has been at the forefront in the immigration to the surface. Three Nations of Elves and a Tribe of Humans. This realm has dozens of highly important elven noble families and wealthy traders. The humans of these nations are advanced and live in a magic fueled society that uses only rudimentary maggi-tech, but also has a strong knowledge of pure machinery, their leaders preferring to keep magic and machinery separate due to an old accord in their shared human laws. Located near a colossal black portal to the unknown, the people here have taken to viewing their access to the void as a mystery not to be touched, fear of it’s potential still preventing them from expanding.

Empire of Namuul

The empire of Druergar/Depths Dwarves and Fiends, who have intermingled in the last few thousand years and have adopted much of each other’s traits. Ruled by a Passive Council and runs a thoroughly corrupt council of elders.  The region is filled with civil strife, unfair rule by the Empire of Varuuth, and is close to losing a war to their enemy and becoming a vassel-state of Vaaruth, unable to truly call itself an Empire in the 12th age.

Empire of Sabuur

The empire of sea aberrations, monstrosities, and fiends, as well as merfolk. This is a democratic empire that elects a true lord and emperor every 10 years. This empire is the wealthiest in the depths and supported the Sovereignty of Void in their quest for freedom from the Empire of Varuuth. This empire lives among the strange waters that fill the drown, around the great opening to the mountains, and is the foremost defender of the region, surviving on a now faltering treaty between themselves and Varuuth. The political councils of the realm rule with strictness and sometimes cruelty, preventing many that could be land dwellers among their population from taking part in the Great Immigration in the 12th age of Abraeas’Dor. Their maggi-tech creations are difficult to use and handle to any others that are not born and raised there, with an arcane footprint based connection to their weapons, armor, and vessels, their inventions tied to the unique biology of those born in the unpredictable waters touched by the great Aetran/Eterna well in the center of their realm.
