The Maw of Obsidian - The Lands of Atrall’Von in the Blackrift
Beneath the surface of Thraxus’Nal are the empires, kingdoms, and nations of Atrall’Von, the ancient empires and nations once hidden from the world, now revealed in the last 2,500 years after the Ascension and the Sundering. These are the people who are bound in service to the powerful nation of Huul, an awe inspiring Maashuu ruled civilization that has lived for over 24 thousand years, and continues to expand its reach throughout the hidden caverns still remaining underground. The greatest depths military force in the world due to it’s strong unification under the banner of Huul and backed by the powers of Thraxus’Nal, these peoples are the reason their surface neighbor has not yet fallen to the Brottoans and the Borrians.
The Sovereignty of Huul
The second largest Maashuu Empire in the World, the empire taking up most of the Maws of Obsidian's Depths - This empire is the high place of diplomacy and democracy among the Maashuu, and is a place of surprising wealth and connection to the surface world, beginning only a mere 100 years after the fall of Old Ethrell. The citizens who survived the fall of Old Ethrell, the Sundering, and the Ascension were taken in by the Sovereignty of Huul and made citizens. This is the seat of power in the Maw of Obsidian, and all the other nations are essentially vassals.
The Empire of Romaeth
The Human Empire that was founded after the assimilation of surface dwellers after the Sundering, and tried to break away from the Empire of Huul, but could not survive the attacks of the horrid creatures from the Ghostweald and The Fall of Night(entrance to the core) nearby their chosen home, and have worked peacefully with the Empire of Huul for many, many years. The humans here have also taken to taking on were-curses as blessings, choosing their defenders who have were-curses over normal humans. The weregods are a high pantheon to the humans of Romaeth.
The Empire of Ontr
The Elven and Vampiric Empire in the Maw of Obsidian - This empire is the enemy of the Humans of Romaeth, but dares not attack them due to the protections put in place by the Sovereignty of Huul. Ontr has tried many times to get out and take down Huul, choosing instead to reward strength rather than reason, and its people have had many civil wars. This is the Empire in the Maw of Obsidian that has the most problems.
The Empire of Naesh
The Human Empire that split from the Empire of Romaeth in a grand civil war, but was put under the democratic control of the Sovereignty of Huul after The Empire of Naesh was almost eliminated by the Empire of Ontr. The people here are worshippers of Maashuu Demigods and Celestials, and have taken on, over time, the ideals and beliefs of Huul, making them a vassal state of Huul.
