Regional Dwarves
The Dwarves of Abraeas’Dor are the most common people in the Brottoan Empire alongside Giants and Half-Giants. The Brottoan Dwarves are far more militaristic and strict about their way of life, but their closest neighbors in Abirria are more akin to standard fantasy dwarves. The Dwarves have a very strong bond and relationship with the Giants as their closest allies. Many Dwarfs and Giants have collaborated for the greater good.
Mountain Dwarves - The Mountain Dwarves are the most common dwarf in all empires, are the ones who do the most great building as legendary masons, and are the one species of Dwarf that is born of stone and molten lava, birthed by the great Totem gods of Brotto as the molten rubble they left behind as the walked the landmass now known as Brotto 1 million years ago, the dwarves becoming sentient from their gargantuan totems aura. They are considered a divine and innately magical species of dwarf.
Hill Dwarves - The Hill Dwarves are the first offshoot of the mountain dwarves some 300,000 years ago when the Brottoans re-emerged on the surface of Brotto in an attempt to repopulate the surface after their great totem gods bodies were destroyed. The hill dwarves are considered the guardians of the great forges spread across Brotto and are closely related to mountain dwarves.
Oreborn Dwarves - These dwarves are those born from elemental power and forged from the ore of the earth, the evolution of the mountain dwarves. These dwarves split from the standard mountain dwarf in the year 10,500 AB in Abraeas’Dor as the Dragons and Brottoans created the proper method to birth them and stabilize their abilities. These dwarves are able to feel the earth, sense metals, and show natural talents with warfare.
Forgemade Dwarves - These dwarves are rarer, and are found in the depths of the three forges of the Brottoan Empire. They are often created accidentally and are not born through normal copulation and conception. They are far more elemental in nature and lifespan, living up to 600 years, with their eldest member reaching 650 years old. Tied to different elements of forging, water, fire, or earth.
Maker Dwarves - These are genetically created dwarves that are made in the Atmos, Abirria, and Brotto using extremely precise magic in Abirria and genetic manipulation in the womb in the drakkonic empires and Brotto. These dwarves are masters of making, crafting, building, and research. They are often made for specific purposes and trained from birth to accomplish this task. These dwarves live shorter lifespans, only around 150-180 years of age and coming of age around 35 years old.
Giantchild Dwarves - These are the dwarves with the strongest connection to their giantish ancestors. They are elemental and evolve to new levels of power and strength similarly to giants. Often the bridge between giants, humans, and dwarves, and sharing similar lifespans of 500-550 years, these dwarves are often paired to learn, train, and bond with giants from birth. They are stronger and have greater long-term endurance than most other dwarves.
