Regional Elves
The Elves
The Elves of Abraeas’Dor have several subspecies, and hail from different regions of the world, with differing histories and lore compared to regular forgotten realms D&D settings. The elves as a species have many long deceased or extinct peoples on Abraeas’Dor, having been wiped out in great calamities and disasters under the Old Aevorrian Empire. Those deceased elf species arrived on Abraeas’Dor around 800,000 years ago, and there have been many periods of zero living elves on the plane.
Dark Elves - Originally hailing from The Depths across the world or hailing from the Old Aevorrian Empire or the old supercontinent of Old Ethrell, the Drow have a long and storied history unfortunately mired in mystery and lost literature. There is rumor that the Drow are not even originally from Abraeas’Dor, and there is a long lost planar homeland. The Drow often speak undercommon or infernal, and their people have recently migrated from the Depths to Abirria, Borr, Vaarnux, Thraxus’Nal, and Roth as part of a great movement to integrate the underearth species and humanoids with the surface world. This great movement is known as The Great Migration, which has been underway for around 500 years at this point in history.
Wood Elves - Originally hailing from Ibanakar/Ib’Na’Kar, Old Ethrell, and having some small colonies in Abirria, the wood elves have now integrated all over the world, and have large populations in Roth, Abirria, Ibanakar/Ib’Na’Kar, Vaarnux, and Thraxus’Nal. They are more respected than even High Elves, Sea Elves, and Dark Elves. They are quite closely attached to humans and Naherin(Abirrian) and have become a normal sight across the empires of the world. Abirrian Wood Elves are often druids and servants of Yllmetren, the Abirrian goddess of woodlands, motherhood, and fire, but are also known to be rather fanatical in their worship of the land and sea, making the wood elves a much more dangerous and wild species of elf than most.
High Elves - Originally hailing from Old Ethrell, Old Aevorr, and several other planes of existence, the High Elves are the most recent species of Elf to integrate itself into the societies of short-lived races, having built a strong relationship with avian humanoids, halflings, and gnomes.
Sea Elves - Originally hailing from Ibanakar/Ib’Na’Kar and the Old Mithiian Empires and planes of existence, even supposedly having their own entire homeworld, the Sea Elves are some of the eldest elven species in the world, having been in Abraeas’Dor longer than even the wood elves. The sea elves are far more dignified, with many many ancient houses and families and many heroes who have appeared throughout the world’s history. The Sea elves take the normal place of High Elves in other settings. Now residing among the Mithiians, Ibanakar, and Abirria, the Sea Elves are renowned as the greatest sailor species in the world and their noble and wealthy houses are often tied to world trade and anti-piracy initiatives.
Lunarii Elves - Originally hailing from the atmos and traversing most of the world in which the moon can be seen, and supposedly even being found elsewhere in the universe, these elves are the native elves of the atmos alongside their siblings, the Solarii elves.
Solarii Elves - Originally hailing from outside the plane of existence and being brought here by the ancient dragon gods and dragon empire of Draco’Khall, these are the first mortal citizens of the Drakkonic empires and their genes were used to extend the lifespan of other mortal species. These elves thrive during the day and may struggle during the night.
Tempan Elves - Originally hailing from the air elemental empire of Aeth and the proceeding to populate the empire of Maeth, her sister empire, spreading across the Atmos even further to the Tribes of Kerth, these elves are empowered and born from normal sexual contact and from extremely strong weather found in stormy regions of the world.
